Default Eliminating alert for one email account.

Please Login to Remove!

I have several email accounts on my blackberry. One of which I mostly recieve spam, so I am alerted alot upon recieving emails from this account.

Is there a way to eliminate recieving a tone/vibrate alert for this account as well as the notification in the top left area?

I'd like to not be alerted of any emails from this account but still have the ability to check it when I like.

hairball, if your BB is still under OS 4.1 or below, I don't believe that is possible. The newer OS 4.2 has options for each email to get a different alert.

Options > About. Look at the line that begins with the "v." and the those numbes that follow.

Looks like I am running 4.1

Can I upgrade to 4.2? I see the FAQ how to upgrade, but there doesnt appear to be a 4.2 Desktop Software. Just a 4.1

My carrier is Alltel, if that matters.

Nevermind that post above.

When I open my Desktop Manager, it says I have version 4.2.

Now I am really confused!

Good. Update your OS to 4.2 per the links I posted above and you should have that option.

Your Desktop Manager version is not relevant to this issue.

It's not giving me an option for 4.2. Just 4.1.

I appreciate your help. Maybe this version is no available. Does the carrier have anything to do with it?

I am sorry, NO, there is not a 4.2 OS for the 7100. My bad, I was thinking of the 7130, and they are not compatible.

I apologize for leading you down this road. Your latest OS update is 4.1.0.556.
