USB charger oddity (8700g at least)

So if I use the BB charger, the BB charges
If I use a generic USB charger, it doesn't

It's as if the BB charger is spoofing a a PC with the BB driver installed.

What makes the BB charger different from a normal USB charger (used for connecting to a car ligher socket, for example)?

never heard of such a think. all of my USB cables work with my Blackberry 8700g

Difference? The amount of juice coming down the pipe makes the difference.

All usb chargers are not created equal. there are some that I have that will work with a BB and some not. something to do with the configuraiton of the usb charger and whether it is smart enough to detect a BB.

I have all of mine tagged whether they work or not with my bb.

Yeah, I think some of them are wired up differently. I don't think there's any intelligence in them to detect anything...

How much juice is optimal? I've experienced this problem with universal, $1 chargers that work well with MOT V3s but not on BBs, . . however, OEM Mot chargers are able to charge my BB's?

The RAZR chargers will work for blackberries but not the other way around.

For a generic AC charger make sure it's output is 5V DC at 500ma (.5 a). This is the same output of your Computer's USB ports.
