sorry for not responding sooner.
I administer our BES, and troubleshoot our PDA around campus. (FSU - Tallahassee -)
about half are on the BES (ideal from a troubleshooting standpoint) and about 90 or so use the BIS.
I've only heard from 2 about this issue. I no longer have access to blackberry so cannot test this for myself.
Its typical that I would not hear from the BIS users as they usually 'wing it on their own' anyway - or they have an IT department that may help them. Plus those using BIS are used to not having instant email.
I was speaking with Alltel Data Suport who in turn spoke to RIM. there is RIM 'ticket' setup about this issue.
the two users in particular - the data support alltel guy could tell that it wasn't scheduled to 'poll' for another six hours. This is a RIM problem that they are aware of (according to him)
