Default BIS Problems??

Please Login to Remove!

Anybody else notice that they haven't gotten messages thru BIS today? My BES is working fine, but I haven't received any messages from my BIS accounts at all today. Anybody else?? I'm on Verizon.

I have not had any problems. When you opened up your BIS account, did you see any funny icons, next to your e-mail accounts?

Default No BB service

US T-Mobile customer, no inbound BB messages since 3:45 p.m. on any of my accounts including Enterprise. Direct test msg to my phone @ blackberry.net not received. Something sounds screwed up.

Verizon 8830 here and three messages received around 1pm, but no more. Got home and there were 15 that were there, but not received on the BB. I am new at setting up the BIS -- not sure I have it set up correctly (I tend to get email in groups several hours apart).

I got a few from my bis accounts this morning, but nothing since about 8am. I have about 20 messages from different bis accounts that have not been sent to my bb. I checked online at the bis settings and don't see anything out of the ordinary.

Sounds like RIM has a server problem..... again!

I am from FL. Could it just be a regional issue?

sagi_bb, welcome to the forums. Your question has nothing to do with the topic, but if you could kindly let us know what BlackBerry for which you need an OS, we'll be glad to help out.

Hi all - I troubleshoot and administer our BB users at the University.

As of last weekend - two of my BIS users have had issues getting their email.

I have been in touch with RIM (we are using alltel) - and 'they are aware of the problem and are working on it'

The tech could force a poll and the email would be delivered but then he could see the next scheduled poll would be for 6 hours from now.

This is affecting 2 users (that I've heard from)

We tried everything too -
removing the email account and adding it back on;
removing the bis account altogether and recreating it;
wiping the handheld;
removing the BIS provisioning and adding it back on.

My last alternative is to have the user's corporate email forwarded to the alltel.blackberry.com account

This hopefully will get resolved. Its odd that so far its only been 2 users (out of 100 or so - that I've heard from anyway)

That is odd, rsams. Two users all on BIS, not BES? Out of how many?

What is the problem that RIM said they were "aware of"? Was that RIM or Alltel people you were speaking with?

Slightly off-topic...but I notice that about half the people responding to this post do not show a location in their profile...so if you don't tell where you're referring to when you answer whether your BIS is up or down, the information is not as valuable as it might otherwise be. Just a thought. Flame away!

sorry for not responding sooner.

I administer our BES, and troubleshoot our PDA around campus. (FSU - Tallahassee -)

about half are on the BES (ideal from a troubleshooting standpoint) and about 90 or so use the BIS.

I've only heard from 2 about this issue. I no longer have access to blackberry so cannot test this for myself.

Its typical that I would not hear from the BIS users as they usually 'wing it on their own' anyway - or they have an IT department that may help them. Plus those using BIS are used to not having instant email.

I was speaking with Alltel Data Suport who in turn spoke to RIM. there is RIM 'ticket' setup about this issue.

the two users in particular - the data support alltel guy could tell that it wasn't scheduled to 'poll' for another six hours. This is a RIM problem that they are aware of (according to him)

Well, I guess if RIM says it is an open trouble ticket, it is. I just think it is odd that it is not affecting more users (not just yours, but all across RIM or Alltel).

Cool Trouble Here in Mississippi

Spoke with AT&T/Cingular today. They are aware there is a network problem with RIM. However, there is no timetable for when the problem will be corrected. I started having trouble yesterday. Wonder if they will credit our accounts? Or is that just wishful thinking?
