Default Deleting Emails on BB is not Deleting on Server

Please Login to Remove!

I receive about 300 emails per day and about 1/3 are junk (different topic I know). When I am not at my desk I am receiving my email messages on my BB. If I get an email that I don't want to save I delete the message on the BB. The problem is that when I get back to my desk and download my emails onto my computer. . .all of the messages I deleted on the BB are still being downloaded to my computer. How do I fix this? Thanks all.

eb, assuming you are on a BIS setup with your email to the BlackBerry, (NOT on BES through a corporate email exchange server?) then you need to set your deletion reconcile on your BB.

Messages > Options > Email Reconciliation > Delete On = Mailbox and Handheld. Wireless Reconcile = ON.
On Conflicts = Mailbox wins.

What are your settings?

OK Thanks. I had the Delete On: set to "Prompt"

I made the changes and will see how it works. I have two email accounts running on my BB. Both are POP/SMTP email addresses. One is my business and the other is my Yahoo.

Thanks for your help.

OK, that didn't work. I deleted 6 emails on my BB a few minutes ago. Then downloaded my email on my computer and those 6 emails were still out there and downloaded to my computer. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much.

how much time elapsed between deletion and your PC inbox synch?

the BB network needs time to report back to your email POP and IMAP server(s) to complete the process, sometimes as much as 15 or 20 minutes.

OK....So I woke up this morning and deleted about 30 emails that came through over night on the BB. Then took a shower and drove to the office (about an hour). Turned my computer on and downloaded my email and all of the messages I deleted on the BB downloaded. What gives!? This is getting frustrating. Please help...Thanks.

IIRC the reconciliation settings are meaningless with a POP account and BIS. You can get partial reconciliation with services like gmail or Yahoo but full reconciliation requires BES.

takeshi, I know after the BIS upgrade recently (was it May?), I gained the ability to delete mail on my BB and have it delete on my POP server. I have it set to "prompt". It does not work the opposite, of course.

I think this user is attempting only the same thing. Of course, some POP accounts may not recognize that deletion command?
