Recently, I took the plunge on the new iPhone. It seems like the hottest new gadget out, so I figured "Why not?". I've been a heavy Blackberry user at work, but my new iPhone simply eclipses the functionality of any Blackberry by a factor of 1000, so I'd be stupid not to switch. I'd like to share my awesome adventure with the Blackberry community of why I think the Apple's new iPhone is a gift from God. Without futher adieu, I'd like to bring you my mini-review of Apple's iPhone!

My new iPhone was delivered by FedEx, and I was already impressed with the quality of the box. With a box this great, I was 100% assured I would be getting a product of the best quality. Needless to say, I was even more excited to tear open the box and find my present inside!

Opening the box, I found the usual Apple class being displayed. I was dying with anticipation as I tore open the box to find my treat inside!

After ripping the box open with my claws and teeth, I was greeted by the most beautiful sight. Behold, the Apple iPhone in all its splendor and glory. I was taken aback for a moment, and I had to stop and remember to breathe. "Remember Adam, it's just a phone", I kept telling myself. But just by looking at it, I could tell this was not just a phone. It was a new way of life.

I turned on the phone, and this thing is so smart -- It was already activated with my provider's SIM, and my e-mails, contacts, applications, everything was already on the device. It's like Apple read my mind with this beautiful piece of machinery, and telepathically downloaded all my contacts, e-mails and apps. Awesome!

Okay, so the phone is working beautifully. I decide to try out the iPod functionality. Again, all of my music was already synced to the device, I didn't have to do a thing. This new technology is amazing! Best of all, the new iPhone has every bit of functionality that my 4G iPod does, and THEN SOME.

I'm totally in love with this new iPhone, and I won't ever use anything else than Apple iPhones. I'm captivated by its intuitiveness, anticipating my every move. Sorry Blackberry community, I've found a new center of my digital life. C'mon in... the water is fine!

Editor's Note: I have since suffered a puncture in my inner ear, but I think it's totally unrelated to iPhone functionality.

Wow. Nice. One sweet piece of integrated hardware. I love unboxing these things; I usually like to unbox once for myself, then I repack and unbox a few more times with various friends and relatives, that way I spread the love a bit. Thanks for sharing this, I'm off to Rogers for mine this morning!

Elliot, I don't want to get a flame war started here but, personally, I think your whole post is a fake. I've examined those pics carefully and they look Photoshop'd to me. I'm not an expert on photo tampering but I doubt the phone looks that good in the real world.

I'm sorry sir, but you are mistaken. My camera does not even do the iPhone any justice. I would need like a 19 gigapixel camera to capture half the awesomeness of the new iPhone. I'm sorry if you are blind to obvious facts, but the iPhone is going to change the course of humanity.

This is my last post on this subject because clearly you are what I said you are... an Apple Fanboy Lemming. I admit that, assuming your pictures aren't fakes, that it's a design revolution. But, even in your shots, I see no way for a user to replace the battery and no option for voice-dialing. I could go on listing things but I hardly doubt that people would stand in line and climb over each other for something like that! Looks aside, who would do that?!

Like I said, rant and rave over this thing all you like. I refuse to get into a p***ing contest with you. If you can be seduced by hype, glitz and wire-ties, it's not worth arguing about. Nuff said!

If you CAN'T, then you're just not an American. The battery is user-replaceable, but the tools needed (a pair of scissors or a knife) aren't included in the box. I'm glad they didn't include it in the box to keep the price down. This set-up cost me a mere $919 bones (before activation and other miscellaneous fees), but it's a small price to pay to be part of a revolution.

Voice dialing? Sorry, I have high self-esteem. I don't have any innate desires to express my deepest thoughts and feelings to a machine.

lol, this is funny as heck. Someone in the elevator thought I had an iphone. Since it looks like it is from the side, the chrome effects, I could have told him yes it is the new iphone... Newer than the newest one that came out 2 weeks ago. This one got keyboard and joystick. But I didn't tell him that since the elevator only took me to the 2nd floor from the 1st floor.

You may think it's funny. I feel sorry for Elliot. He has to run out and plunk down almost 1G because he's seduced by all the hype. Sure he may get ooohs and aaahs from everyone around him when he pulls that shiny toy out of his pocket but, IMHO, he's been had. At a cost!

Of course I will, not only because of my deep love for this country, but my deep love for Steven P. Jobs and the glorious kindgom that is Apple Computer, Incorporated. Of course none of them will look as good as the first-generation model that I have, but I will do my duty as an American, NAY, as a human being and plunk down my hard-earned dollars towards the new iteration of the iPhone.
