I have a co-worker that purchased a BB from Cingular and never activated it. I have a 7130e with my company and wondered if I bought it from her, would I be able to use it on the company's Sprint network?

No. The networks are incompatible.

Cingular/at&t = GSM

Sprint = cdma

As far as I know, the answer to that is no. They operate on 2 different wireless technologies. at&t is GSM and Sprint is CDMA.

On top of the incompatibility issue, Sprint will not activate a non-Sprint phone on their network, so even Verizon phones are out.

the same goes for verizon. they will NOT activate a non-verizon phone.

Not for long. I'm watching NBC news4 Washington, DC and they did a bit this morning on the FCC passing a new law that would alow you to use any cell phone on any carrier. Hope this get's passed.

GSM phones aren't activated (like CDMA phones). You activate the SIM. Which, of course, doesn't do any good if you're with Sprint...
