Default Gmail Re-Downloads Messages

Please Login to Remove!

This has happened to me on 2 occasions now...

The Gmail email account on BIS will re-download all of the messages in my inbox/messages that were sent to my Blackberry. It just happened right now (for the 2nd time), and it downloaded 182 messages WHEW.

Does anyone know why this is happening or has this happened to anyone else?

I've heard of that happening to others. I haven't had it happen to me, though. I occasionally get one or two old messages redelivered but never that many. I keep my server mailbox pretty clean, though, and delete most stuff.

Default re-downloads

I have experienced the same problem twice on by BB8830 with Gmail. It re-downloaded 150+ emails that go back several months.

Any help would be appreciated.

Might start by going to BIS, deleting existing GMail account and re-adding it, just in case something in the existing account has gotten confused. Can't hurt as a starting point, anyway.

Have you tried replacing your user name with "recent:username@gmail.com"?

Just a quick thought...would it have anything to do with Gmail's forwarding or Pop3 setting? i.e. an option between 1. Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded) and 2. Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on

Haven't tested it but just a though.

Good luck!

Good stuff guys I'm on the road (vacation in Mexico) but when I get a chance I'm going to try your suggestions.
