Default time zone- not the same question as everyone else

This could just as easily be posted in an Outlook forum, but I figure many of you have experience with this so I'll ask here.

I've read over the posts regarding time zone changes and it looks like I just need to make sure that:
-if I'm making the appointment on my PC (I sync using the Desktop Manager) then I will enter the time as of my home time zone.
-if I'm making the appointment on my BB, I make sure I pick the correct time zone.

But here's the problem: I put a lot of "all-day" appointments in Outlook and use that as my daily task list. It helps me schedule when I have to do something. But when travel and reset my PC time zone (that's only thing I think that would do it, because I have disabled the "update device date and time" in Desktop Manager), all those appointments then stretch over two days, from 1 a.m. to 1 a.m. the next day. I have to go back and change each one. When I switch the time zone back, it doesn't change those appointments back.

I have set a second time zone on Outlook, but that hasn't helped.

One of you may suggest that I use the Task list in Outlook, and I do, but for other things. This is my system right now.

Which is your primary calendar?
It may be easier to put either everything on your bb first or everything in outlook first. That would relieve some of the confusion in terms of the scheduling process, as well as, your PIM settings in desktop manager.

In her life, is it feasible to keep manual clock in one time zone?

I had a similar problem, but I think I posted it on a different site forum.

To summarize, I was sending meeting invites to someone overseas, and their handheld (not a BB) was having trouble adjusting the time zone (so they said). So to get around it, I would make the appointment in THEIR time zone, my BB would translate it back to MY time zone correctly -- all is good so far -- BUT when I sync'd to Outlook 2003, my appointment would be off on the PC by one day. It wasn't always out by one day, but the pattern was that if the time difference spanned midnight, it would be off by one day.

In addition, although their handheld would have the correct date and time (since it wouldn't have to do any time translation), THEIR Outlook 2003 would also be off by one day if the appointment spanned a midnight.

These meeting invites were weekly recurring ones, if this made a difference.

To recap: if the appointment was his morning and my evening, then my Outlook 2003, my Blackberry, his handheld and his Outlook 2003 would agree. If the appointment was my evening and his morning the next day, then my Outlook 2003 would be for the wrong day, my Blackberry would have the right day, his handheld would have the right day, and his Outlook would have the wrong day.

I wrote it off to an Outlook 2003 bug, as it was the only conclusion I could come to with the tests that I did (not exhaustive by any means).

In general, I use Outlook as my primary calendar, but sometimes I set appts through the BB.

I am also inclined to think that it is an Outlook bug, and an annoying one. This could be solved if Outlook had a setting to say what time zone an appointment was, and it adjusted it like the BB does. But I haven't found such a setting.

While the time zone automatically changing thing is fresh on my mind, by the way, I will say that it's amazing that the cell companies that offer BBs aren't more aware of the issue on their tech support. I called them about it months ago and they had no idea what to do. I remember reading another post where the person said their cell tech support said they'd never heard of the problem.
