Default What is needed for email on a used BB

Please Login to Remove!

I recently sold a 8100 on ebay and received a email from the buyer that they could not get the email to work because it was registered to me. I wiped the BB before selling it. They said they went to several ATT stores and no one could help them. I thought all you needed to do was put in your new SIM card and go. What is missing here?

Was the BB connected to your companies BES server?

No, you MUST release the PIN and IMEI from your account, i.e., tell your carrier you are no longer using it, or transfer it to the new dude.

My wife was using BIS with it. I did not contact my carrier to release the IMEI or PIN. I will do that. Thanks.

that is all that is normally needed, then the new user can go to the BIS and sign in and enter that PIN as his BB and setup email.
