Hi. I am based in USA but need info on Blackberry's in Asia specifically for China & Japan, can anyone give me any info on providers and models available? thanks

China:
China Mobile uses 900Mhz GSM

Japan:
NTT DoCoMo uses W-CDMA or 3G
Softbank Mobile Corp uses W-CDMA or 3G

Your best bet for BB handset is 8707g

I work in Asia and use 2 BB's. The 8707 in Japan which works perfectly. I prefer using softbank ( it will come up as Vodaphone ) as the coverage seems better out in Chiba/Narita.

When I go to China/ Phillipines/ Vietnam etc... I switch it over to the curve as I like that handset better.

I'm with at&t and have the unlimited international plan which works very well except every month I have to call them to remind them I have unlimited so they can take off the extra $100 they try to slip in.....
