Default More then 1 email account

I have a blackberry 8100 and I use it for work and play as most I believe would use it for. However I receive my work email with my personal email and text messages all on one icon. Is there a way to make different icon accounts on the phone to keep the email accounts seperate and the text messages seperate from that?

Thanks for any help

Rusty

When you go to www.mycingular.blackberry.net (BIS 2.3) and set up the second email account, it should separate them on your device. Are you using current device software for the 8100? Since text messages are directed to the device and not to a mailbox, I suspect they will go in to the primary message/mail folder.

That website isn't working... did at&t get rid of it? So what you are saying when I setup the email accounts the blackberry should create new icons for each one to keep the seperate and not put all the emails and text messages under one icon?

I use AT&T BB and I get a separate icon for each email account I set up. You can even go to Messages --> Options --> General Options --> SMS and Email Inboxes and set it to separate to separate SMS from MMS and get separate icons there too. All I did was go to BlackBerry Internet Service and set up my accounts, and when I do the new icons automatically appear. If they don't try resending the service books?

I think my software is out of date. I bought the pearl when it just came out and so I think its my software. I am going to download the new software into it the first chance I get and try that... Because I have even deleted accounts and reset them up and still no joy so I will try this next...

Where on the blackberry do you see your software version? I believe I need BlackBerry® Internet Service 2.3 for it to work

I currently have blackberry desktop manager 4.2.2.14 on my computer and when I am looking to upgrade my phone to 2.3 it wants me to download 4.1 desktop manager. How can I upgrade the phone without replacing my desktop manager with a different one?

Sorry I am new with blackberry I have used windows mobile since they came out and its been a hard switch. I still have trouble telling things apart from the business blackberries and the personal ones and the type of accounts. Mine is a personal I do know that.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Try this: https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=mycingular

Yes...it should give you a folder for each email account. And each email account can be set up with a different "Sent From" when you email or reply.

Depends.. before BIS 2.3 if you had a BES account too, then it was collapsed into one email folder.. Thats how it works for me..

I saw he upgrade to 2.3 BIS message once when I logged in, and declined it.. now I can't get it back to change my mind..

BIS isn't on your Blackberry. You need to log into the BIS site to set up your personal accounts via the URL that rsnadel provided. Email to those accounts will still arrive in Messages (all SMS/MMS/email arrives in Messages) but you can set up searches tied to alt-hotkey combos to filter messages. Search the forums if you need specific instruction on how to do this as it has been addressed many many times.
