Default Desktop Manager install with Vista

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I'm new to the forum so please excuse me if this question has been answered before.
I am in the process of buying a Blackberry Curve (Cingular/ATT) and am running Windows Vista Home Premium on my computer. I believe I have some Roxio software on my computer now. I've been reading these horror stories of the desktop software install for the Blackberry on Vista. Could someone give me a good step by step for the install to minimize the risks of problems? Rather than use the disc supplied with the Curve, I was going to go to the Blackberry website and download version 4.2, save it to my desktop and then open it by right clicking to "Run as administrator". Is it OK to do it this way or do I need to run it from the disc? Should I download service pack 1 or 2. I hear there are some conflicts with Roxio with one of the versions.
Thanks

I use VISTA business and the install was straight forward. Just get SP1 FIRST, then install SP2 afterwards.

Does the media manager work for you in vista? It crashes on mine. I'm too lazy to try to fix it. I just switch to my XP machine
