Default Related to mailto tage

Hi,

We have a requirement where through email, approval process needs to be achieved. User would get a mail which would contain two mailto tags one for approval and other one for the disapproval.

Assume user has Outlook client on its desktop. If user clicks on any approval or disapproval mailto tag, an email should pop-up which automatically populates the email with the to address, Subject and the body of the mail. And if user send that mail, the application would take an appropriate action.

Now, the question is: Through outlook we want to achieve this behavior which mailto tag provides, but in blackberry hand set which pulls mail from the Microsoft exchange server, does not able to achieve the desired behavior. It defaults select the mailto:<emailid> but not the rest of the fields.

Following is an example:

mailto:shade05@test.com?cc=shade05@test.com&subjec t=Testmail&body=testmail

The Outlook client appropriately selects the full above mentioned string and populate the respective fields into the new mail, when user click on the link.

But in blackberry: only mailto:shade05@test.com gets selected and using the option provided by the set, if we select Email <emailid> which in our case would be Email [email address]
and opens a new mail which email id only populated into it but not the rest of the fields.

Let me know what needs to be done to achieve the desired behavior.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Deepak

We have found that for the following model of the Blackberry handset, mailto tag works properly:
a) Blackberry 8700, Wireless Handheld (Edge), V4.1.0.284 (Platform 2.0.0.120)

We are not certain at this moment that whether this is the minimum version model which supports mailto tag properly.

Please let us know the minimum model number on which mailto tag is fully supported.

Thanks,
Deepak
