Default Working with Gmail

Please Login to Remove!

I would like to use my Gmail account to keep a copy of emails received and sent. I can use its forwarding feature and keep a copy of mails received. Would I be right in assuming that to keep a copy of mails sent from the handheld I would need to cc or bcc my Gmail account? But then that mail would be forwarded on to the handheld right? I'm confused - help!

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 7230: BlackBerry7100/4.0.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

If you set up your gmail as pop3 on your bb it should save all replies or messages sent in your gmail account... At least that is what it has done for me

Absolutely right. If you set up the Gmail account in your BWC and allow POP3 access directly via Gmail, it will keep a copy of both sent and received mail in your Gmail account. Using the forwarding function mentioned above, you will not have a record of sent messages unless the recipient replies back to you. Hope this helps.

If i don't want to use POP, but I want to have my gmail forwarded (to preserve the push e-mail) is there a way to have e-mails sent from my blackberry appear in my sent mail on gmail? Also, is there a way to have sent e-mails from gmail appear on my blackberry?

The grammar needs a little work though...
"Your in trouble, You've just come out of trouble, or Your headed for Trouble!"

'Your' should be 'You're'.

Forwaring works better with Gmail typically.

Either way though, you'll never have 'sent items' in your Gmail account that match what you do on your BlackBerry.

Forwarding gets your emails to you faster than POP though...

So there's no clean way to do this using forwarding?

I don't think so. Not unless someone has another workaround.

Ya'll probably already know, but for those who don't, here's a way to access your gmail using your browser:

Discobay, it's possible. Instead of forwarding all of your Gmail, set up filters in Gmail to forward all wanted mail except for the mail from your BB's from address. You can set up a filter to have all BB-sent mail skip the Gmail inbox and go straight to the archives.

Tgray why bother going to it with the browser, if you forward it you have it in real time at your fingertips in the BB?

Wirelessly posted (your electric?: BlackBerry7520/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/5.1.2.12)

I set up a BCC gmail account and set that in my BIS as my BCC under profiles. Really easy, I mean that is why I have a 100 gmail invites. I got an email address for everything LOL i.e. Paypal, Ebay, and Forums.
