Default Possibly Stupid Question about Non-BES Push

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,
Sorry if this is a stupid question. I've only used BB on a BES. I'm now considering moving to BB for personal use (No BES). If I use what I think is called the "Blackberry Internet Solution," will my email be real-time push, or does it only poll for email ever xx minutes? Also, does it matter if the email is on an imap, exchange, or any other server?

Thanks.

BIS polls your email servers about every 15 mins. If it finds mail, it pushes it to you and polls again about 2 mins and pushes that mail or reverts to the 15 min schedule.

Gmail and Yahoo and the @yourcarrier.blackberry.net addresses are pushed instantly.

Default Follow up

Will GMAIL for business (using your own domain, etc) push instantly, or only [email address]?

Thanks.

I think you mean using your own domain hosted at Google Domains. Yes.

Default 15 Minute Polling

Not that I really care what the answer is -- more of a question of curiosity -- does polling vary according to the account?

Let's say that you have 2 e-mail accounts set up on BIS -- one with relatively high volume (work) and another low volume (personal). If emails are coming in the work account but not the personal account, are both accounts polled after the 2 minute lapse, or just the work account? From a load management perspective it would make sense to separate them out, but it would be slightly more complex to implement that solution.

Just curious.

I actually get my BIS emails almost instantly. No 2 minute or 15 minute lapses.
