Default Dialing conference/bridge numbers from appointment

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I saw numerous threads that talk about inserting pauses so you can dial a passcode automatically. This assumes you can control the way the invitation sends out the phone number. Does anyone know of anyway (or any software) that will look at appointments and find the conference # and pin and automatically dial it with the pause?

Thanks.

Okay...now you're just getting lazy!

I'm kidding. Surely there's something you can do. I'm assuming you don't want to save the conference numbers and such to your address book (possibly because they change)?

They change, it could be a one time thing, etc. The situation I find myself in is that I'll get invited to an appointment while on the road and not have time to add the conference # then the reminder for the meeting pops up (lets say while I'm driving) and I have to mess around trying to dial the conf # and memorize the passcode...

Okay, yeah, that would definitely be a problem. A dangerous one.

Are there headsets out there that will take voice dialing? Meaning that you could call out the number and the headset would dial? I'm stumped. Though I'm not surprised by it. LOL

Default Okay, I think I have an answer

On my BB, and I don't know if yours is the same, I have an option at the bottom of a new appointment to make "notes". I just made an appointment for me to call myself and put the phone number in "notes" along with a made up passcode for me to enter.

When the reminder went off, I opened the appointment, scrolled to the phone number and clicked the send key. It called me. Then, when my voicemail picked up, I used Alt+Back (the clicky thing on the side) to scroll to the calendar again and clicked the passcode number. Now, the passcode number I made up didn't do anything in my voicemail, obviously. But maybe you could try that instead of having to memorize the numbers? Put them in "notes".

Gosh I hope this helps!

One of the previous thread refers to having an Address Book entry with the conference bridge number and password with the appropriate pauses.

So you can have 1 address book entry just for dialing conference bridges and update the phone number and passcode as needed.

Yea; that still requires you to set it up, which doesn't help if you get lots of last minute invites (which I do).

All of your solutions will help in general though, thanks.
