Vendor resources report issue is ongoing with potential impact to 50% of subscribers. All messages will be delivered after the incident has cleared
By "vendor" is that carrier or the BIS service?

Just checked our SMTP log and no BIS polling since 11:58 AM. So although you can get into the BIS via the web, their servers are not polling.

Here's an odd note...one of the probably dozen or so emails that's stacked up pushed through at 11:11am (PDT); it had been sent at 9:56am. But no sign of the other missing emails.

Since this sounds like it may be limited to BIS, I wonder if this has anything to do with the update to BIS 2.4 that appears to be coming (I read about it on the Blackberry website a few days ago).

If it's just a BIS problem going on here, I would just go to the corresponding mobile site (mobile.yahoo.com, mobile.live.com, etc..) on your BB in the meantime. At least you will be able to read and send emails until it's fixed.

Rochester, NY here....looking like a 40-60 minute delay on my personal TMO BIS and our ATT BIS BB's here at work have seen some emails delay up to 2 hours.

TMO outage began after midnight last night.

Angry Back-up suggestions??? - 09-07-2007, 02:50 PM

As much as I have enjoyed my 8700, 8100, and 8320 devices, the service outages are more than problematical. Has anyone had good luck with any other device/e-mail system that could be used as a back-up for the RIM BIS system?

With RIM's size, revenue stream and number of customers, AND their positioning to be THE ENTERPRISE email system for handhelds, there's very little excuse for these repeated service outages. The folks at the SABRE reservations system, for just one example, could show them how to architect using multiple data centers, multiple clustered servers, multiple network paths and providers, etc etc to prevent this from happening. Anyone want to guess when the last total outage of Sabre was?? (Hint: the year didn't start with "2".) This is just really lousy on RIM's part.

UPDATE

Only received old emails, not receiving new email promptly

Could this have something to do with BIS 2.4 upgrade?
