What's your location cwinters? Not having any problems here in Chicago. Maybe it's a local tower or something.

Not sure. I was actually calling in to report having problems and the PDA/BB support extension has a message saying that they are having issues with the service.

In Oregon here...sent myself a PIN message, working fine. BIS emails are not sending or receiving. I am sending and receiving BES mail just fine. Looks like maybe it's a BIS issue.

I believe it's a regional issue at the moment. My g/f was not able to receive e-mails as of late yesterday, apparently it still hasn't been resolved yet.

NYC Metro area here.

...and apparently not just TMo? Your profile says AT&T and there was another post in another thread from a Verizon user...not 100% sure it's the same issue, though.

Messed up here in Halifax. Not carrier or region specific. Service books don't make it out from the BIS site, nothing incoming or outgoing on any mail account, PIN works fine.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Not dead here. Maybe limping, though. Test emails to and from the BB get through but do take a while. Maybe 10 minutes.

Buddy at Aliant (Bell) reports an official disruption notice just came through. RIM is telling them that only about 50% of NA customers are affected.

To add to this, the official report is that "A component of the BB network infrastructure is experiencing a service interruption"

further: "BB internet service subscribers may experience delays in sending or receiving messages. All messages will be delivered after the incident has cleared."

I spoke to a AT&T rep in tech support with this issue two days ago with HOTMAIL and he said "MSN/HOTMAIl is now using a different server but didn't inform anyone of the change so it was a national issue that was being handled.
I had to delete my emails from my bb, reboot, and resend the service books and some of you may have to do the same thing.
good luck.

Glad I found this, I thought I was going nuts as I just successfully configured BIS last night!

Short story: AT&T, So Cal, BES working great, BIS down

Long story: I've had BES on my new Curve working nicely for several weeks. JUST configured BIS/Yahoo for personal email yesterday evening -- it was working nicely. When powered the Curve back up this morning, BIS wasn't working. At first, could send emails but not receive. Then neither. Reset device, resent service books (after having a hard time logging onto the BIS/AT&T site -- now I realize it must be getting hammered by a lot of people having problems). Still not working. Was about to delete and reconfigure the Yahoo account on BIS, but I guess I'll wait to see if things clear up...

I work in the IT dept for Alltel wireless and this was sent to everyone early today:

"BlackBerry Internet Service subscribers may experience delays in sending or receiving messages due to a service interruption on the vendors side.

A status update will be provided every two hours and you will be notified of final resolution."
