| I noticed yesterday that my 8700 had the edge instead of EDGE and I was not receiving email. I rebooted the phone (took the battery out) and when the phone came back up it was on EDGE and all the emails came in. So I am guessing that might have been the start to this problem.

| That is odd how it said edge when not working but EDGE when it was. Is this a documented state (limited data, etc)? | | Offline

| We're back up in Troy Michigan now also. Only one user had to do a battery pull to get his connection back and now he's getting killed with the backlog of e-mails built up. | | Offline

| In my experience today, when we pull the batteries we get EDGE for a few minutes, then it reverts to edge. Then, depending on the handheld, some will received delayed emails, others will receive nothing at all. It's a cr$p shoot.
(edit: seems to be back up as of 15 min ago in Cleveland)

| All of our users are back up and running in Springfield MO and non of the users had to reboot their phones, everything just came up on it's own.
Now I am curious to what happened, and if it will happen again.

(edit: seems to be back up as of 15 min ago in Cleveland) | Yes, I also noticed the same issues where if you pull the battery you would get EDGE for a few minutes, and never receive any email.

| I chatted with AT&T tech support earlier. They claimed they are having data issues with all data devices, Blackberry, Windows mobile, etc. The support person I talked to said they estimated it would be fixed by 6:40 PDT. Most of my BB users in St. Louis have started getting emails again, and I see reports of other cities coming back online as well. I'm about to log into their support site again to get more info. | | Offline

| I had this problem a couple days ago and a couple times last night withTMo in Chicago but things have been fine today so far.
WTH is going on? Things have been too unstable here lately. Not very dependable imo.

| When I was notified this morning by my CEO, the first thing I did was reboot my BES just to make sure it wasn't that, I then looked at the stats for each user and saw that the VZW users were just fine, I should have noticed that already since I was getting e-mails but I had yet to have my morning coffee. But just to make sure that I could show him that I had checked everything, I grabbed my bosses VZW Blackberry and sent him a test e-mail and had him send me one, both came through just fine, after that then I signed the CEO up to the BB-Outage mail list so he could keep up to date of what was going on without asking me all the time.
Actually he was impressed with the mail list and wanted to know how long it had been up and who ran it, he was more impressed when I told him that I was the one running the list. Hopefully he'll remember that while I'm off for back surgery. | | Offline
