Default Is Content Protection worth using?

My background: BES Admin

I was wondering if anyone knew more about this feature and whether it is worth implementing in a large scale scenario. The one down side I see to using it is that when you want to "wipe" the device it does a scrubbing feature which re-writes then deletes data to the memory several times to ensure the data is unrecoverable. This may be seen as good, however it takes about an hour to do which can be time consuming for a BES admin.

As far as benefits go, it seems that it would add an extra layer of protection. However, it was my understanding that data was already encrypted between the BlackBerry and a BES. Is this assumption incorrect? Share your thoughts...

Thank you!

If you intend to secure the data on your handhelds as much as possible it makes sense to use it. I use it on every BlackBerry I have owned and it makes me feel safer. I know that my clients' information will not be easily accessed by someone who should not have access and that I have done everything that can be expected to provide that security. There really is no downside except for the extra time it takes to completely wipe a device. I think it is worth it...spend one hour and keep your company's good reputation.
