Default Accidental disconnections

1. How many of you have accidentally terminated a call by inadvertently hitting the escape button on a 72** series phone?

2. How many of you would like to see some kind of software fix for this?

3. What would the software fix look like? How about being able to set the phone so it doesn't disconnect unless you click on a menu item using the roller wheel?

If I am not mistaken this has been discussed in another thread. But you should try a 7520 or 7510 the esc button is where our direct connect button was on our motorola phones.

I think that esc button should be disabled during a call and you should have to use either the phone button on the top or the space bar to hang up. You are so correct, accidental hang ups are a HUGE problem...

Never done it. Since you have to press and hold the ESC key, this is not a problem for me. Now I hated the 77xx series, with the location of the ESC key there I was always getting into trouble,

Actually, my biggest problem is accidentally rejecting a call...

Too true. I have had both happen, but very infrequently

This was already fixed in two ways.

After the first couple of versions of 3.6. RIM changed it so you have to click and hold the ESC button for a significant period of time to end a call.

It was only really a problem on the original 7230's - they moved the button slightly on the 7290 series (it is more to the back of the device) so it is harder to accidently have your finger over the ESC key. I haven't heard of this issue since it was solved in the 7230 quite some time ago.

I haven't had a user bring this issue up for at least a year, probably longer.

Default BT headset

if you're using a BT headset all you have to do is tap the escape button when the BB is in the cradle to end the call...it's very annoying and can happen very easily
