Default Selective blocking of e-mail

Please Login to Remove!

My blackberry pearl consistently fails to receive e-mails from senders at one particular company. Their e-mails will arrive to the desktop, but not to the blackberry or laptop. No rules are set on MS outlook and no filters are set on BB. A solution can't be provided by either the BB service provider or webhosts as technically they are both functioning well otherwise. I've had expensive techies look at the problem, but they can't help - has anyone come across this problem before?

no, Rose, but you might explain the specifics of the setup. Is your email a POP account? Do you forward your email to the BIS account from Outlook, or is it a direct BIS connection?

Have you asked the other user to try emailing your blackberry.net address? Can you email that person from the BB and ask them to reply to it?

Yes it's a POP account. It's a direct connection but strangely even when I set a rule to forward everything, those still don't come through. It's a big client so I don't want to irritate them any further than I already have by asking them to use a different address - as it is, I only get their mails when I'm office-bound...

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

What happens if you just manually forward the e-mail to your BlackBerry e-mail address? (instead of using a rule.)

So you are using BIS?

Can you see the message/e-mail on the server but not on the BB?

Maybe if you wrote a BIS filter that would explicitly send the message, that might do it?

For example:
When "From" field contains @whereever.com
then
Forward message to device

I had a similar problem with one email account that would not show up on my blackberry. I'm assuming there were some hidden header codes that BB didn't like...but I too could never accurately determine why it wouldn't work for this one specific account.
