Default Fetching Certs with S/MIME

Please Login to Remove!

running OS. 4.1.0.346, S/MIME 4.0
I loaded the CAC reader and S/MIME package on my 8700g. however, when trying to pull the senders public certs, i keep getting the error msg "there is no default server specified on the MDS."

Is this a setting on my end or the BES?

thx,

Discgolfer

Well it says that if you have not setup LDAP servers you need to go into the security options and then go to certificate servers and add server.

or you could just not have the ldap server selected when pulling certs. which you just need to change option when the search screen comes up. it usually says <default>

and that is the same on 8700 series 7200 series 7100 series blackberries all carriers.

thanks, I got that fixed, but now my cert says that it cannot be synced because the cert is set to not export. as far as i know the certs on the card and the phone have not changed. I was able to sync them prior to this.

Default why

I take it you are using the Desktop manager to import your certs to the blackberry. if you go into security options and select certificates with your BT cac reader paired you should have an import smart card certs option you click that and you should be able to copy them to the blackberry. since most policy's do not allow you to pull the certs from windows. due to them being locked in the Active client software for security reasons.

lol.. can't type...

"the DM wants the certs in the workstation reader not the blue tooth reader"* then the DM won't sync the certs because the certs are not exporatble.

I need to know where the option to change the certs to "exportable" is located?

I can export the certs using the windows work station but still can't sync the certs via the DM...ok so now i'm ranting because i can't seem to fix this....

i have tried the following with no change:
1) removed the certs using the DM then re-added them with the Blue tooth smart card reader.
2) completely wiped the device and re-added everything

no change in either case.....

does any one have any ideas how to fix this? is this a BES or exchange issue? help!
