Default Help, loaded an application now stuck in loop

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone,

I was attempting to load pacman onto my 8707. It reset in the middle of the process and now it is stuck in a loop. The red l.e.d comes on and then I get a white screen for about 5 seconds and then it goes around in a loop, red l.e.d. on again..... It doesn't make it past that point.

Can I do a factory reset or something?

I can't find a 'paperclip' reset button.

Thanks in advance

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

No paper clip reset button on a BB! Have ya tried pulling battery? Was pacman a program for you 8707 or another BB!

You may have to wipe your device using JL_CMDER go into BBFAQ link is in my signature you will find all the instructions you need there

Hi,

I am guessing it [pacman] was probably for another BB.

I am trying to wipe it now, have been trying for about 1 hour. The damn BB won't stay connected long enough to wipe it. It keeps resetting over an over. I have tried so many times now(maybe 100+) and am thinking that I am not going to be able to wipe it?

Tried using DOS command but same result. My USB cable is connected directly to the PC (not through a hub).

Can you give me any other suggestions?

Thanks

Ben

Try this next - What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ - and then reload the handheld OS.

I'm guess the battery pull did not work? Also you followed the directions for wiping with JL_Cmder?

Did you try this: What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ

Hi, Yes I tried this also. I can connect to my BB but it is only brief (maybe 3-4sec) and then it resets, which doesn't seem long enough to do a 'wipe' or install new OS.

Can I stop what ever is trying to load from loading so as I can give JL_Cmder long enough to do its thing?

Ben

I know it's strange. I certainly won't be attempting to load an application on BB until I am sure it is for my model 8707.

I have had some luck!!!

I wasn't able to erase the BB but I could load the new OS onto it. I have no idea why and I was ready to bury a grave for it, but it wanted to live again.

The only thing now is the version of software doesn't have many themes on it like my last one, this one only has four where my last one had at least fifteen. Can I add more themes to it?

Thanks for all your help everyone.

I had the same problem last week but can't revive mine. Can you please tell me how you were able to load the OS without erasing the BB first? I'd like to give that a shot.

Thanks!

Did you try this link as was posted above? It works 99% of the time.

Yes, and it allows me to connect. But once it starts the erasing/reloading process, it loses the connection because the BB is contstantly restarting in the loop described above.
