Default no icon for the gps??

Please Login to Remove!

i have a cingular bb 800 i dont see the built in gps program in there. when i had the tmobile bb8800 it was there. how do i go about dl the program or can i?

You can download or use any number of GPS programs... TeleNav, Nav4all, AmazeGPS, etc., look for links over in the GPS Mapping section of this forum...

Options > Advanced > GPS, will simply locate you.

There is no specific icon for GPS. You need a map program to really make it useful, and once you download and install one of those, then you will have an icon.

well when i had the tmobile bb it had gps already install into it. it would tell you haw fast you are going in the car etc.. but thanks for all your input

You're a bit confused between GPS and Applications that use GPS. You are talking about the application called Blackberry Maps (which uses the GPS receiver inside the phone.) AT&T hides the icon for BB Maps so you won't use it and that's why it's not on your phone. The GPS receiver IS installed on your phone. You can download BBMaps from http://mobile.blackberry.com or use the "How do I get BBMaps to show on my device" sticky in the GPS/Mapping forum. You can also download Google Maps and it will work with the built-in GPS receiver in your 8800 as well.

Telenav is a great program. I def. think its worth the 10 bucks a month.
