Question Connect a BB 8700 to a computer?

Please Login to Remove!

I got a BB 8700 and I had installed the OS 4.2.1 ( came with the phone ). But It said that the software is later version or something so it couldn't make the connection.
Then I decided to setup the 4.2 but It still didn't work for me.
Can someone please tell me step by step how to connect a BB 8700 to a laptop?
And by the way, can I transfer media files from my computer to my BB 8700.
---
My cousin has BB Pearl, he can do that ( using OS 4.2.1 ) but some people told me that the BB 8700 can not do that. Is that true?
Please, help me
Thanks

Didn't you already post this, and get responses?

There are two installations you should do on your computer: Desktop Manager and the handheld operating system software. The os software should be same version or newer as what is on your blackberry. If newer, you will be prompted to upgrade.

Advice: Download the OM for the 8700 if you don't have it. And read it. And checkout blackberryfaq.com.

And whether or not you can get media files on the 8700, what's the point? All you have in the onboard memory; there is no expansion card as with the pearl and the newer models.

Also, keep in mind you can only use OS software/upgrades for your specific model. For example, the OS for the 8100 will not work in an 8700, neither can you use 8703 software in an 8700 and vice versa.

Yes, so let's close this one and use this other thread:

How can I connect my BB to my computer?

Please do not double post your questions.
