Not sure about Cingular, but this may help...

I'm not sure if this is 100% accurate, but this is my take on it...

On my old Verizon 8703e (on BES), I had 2 different browsers.

1. Internet Browser: Internet traffic went directly to the internet using the Verizon and/or Blackberry network.

2. Blackberry Browser: Internet traffic went to the internet through our corporate network and firewall.

I believe the Blackberry Browser got pushed out to it during the Enterprise Activation.

My new Pearl only has one browser (#1).
