Default Jivetalk VS IM+

Please Login to Remove!

I see no real diff between Jivetalk and IM+.....except for the people peddleing IM+ are looking to get 50 bucks a pop for it....while Jive is 20.00.
Any input here>>
I do not need the SMS texts....just AOL and MSN...
Any free program that can do the two at the same time?
I'd pay but 50 bucks is steep No?

Default One vote for JiveTalk

I use it with AOL / Yahoo / MS / Google

No complaints at all .. used to have IM+ but since JT costs less JiveTalk is what I would suggest.

I've used Im+ for the last year and it worked for me (cant use the RIM Im apps b\c of ATT the new cingular as well as the old ATT) but I upgraded my OS and opted to try the free 30 day trial of Jive Talk and so far im impressed. Im+ has come a long way but personally I they they need to catch up.

My opinion. Jive Talk

Jivetalk is by far better. I've had both and in my opinion Jive talk has some definite advantages. First and foremost, it used the bb sound profiles and you can change alerts to whatever you want. im+ does not. Jivetalk also allows you to change the font to your liking. It also is a lot more stable...

if u want free google talk is still the best free app that can connect to all the chat services.

the only catch is it takes some pissfarting about on the desktop.

but hey its free, and best of all u get it all your chats saved in your gmail account.
to be honest, it doesnt get much better than that

i have both....yes, I am one of those poor people who bought IM+ for my treo, switched over to BB, and then discovered Jive. One big advantage for Jive, one is able to sign into two aol accounts at the same time for example.

This was the compelling reason for me to get Jive, as I was able to sign into two aim screen names..

Of course...less expensive too...otherwise, truly both clients are great, and one has to pay for something that took some depth and time to develop.

I am reading so many people wanting "free"...they should never have gotten a blackberry...it has been a money pit, applications are soo much more expensive....coming from a treo..my opinion.

Amen.

Default I vote JiveTalk

it has profile infusion, IM+ does not. That means IM+ will still make noise even when your profile is set to Off. That made me so angry! Also, before I knew why the program didnt obey the Off profile, I tried emailing IM+ for an answer, all I got was an automated email that said "thanks for emailing us" never got any answer form them. However, after the most recent update to 1.0.3, I started having connection issues, I emailed them and received a response within 5 minutes. They were very thourough too!

Does anyone use NIMBUZZ? I've been using it and with great results. Plus it's free! Give them a try before you buy something.
