Unhappy Is My 8700g Unlocked Or Not?

my second hand 8700g was sold as locked, But when i checked whether it was, [Settings/Advanced Settings/Sim card/mepd] and network was listed as active. is my BB unlocked? when i insert my Tesco mobile sim card, i get "invalid sim card"




[Sorry if this has been posted before and mods are now going to eat my skin while blowtorching my nipples, but i couldn't find anything like it before this post]
