I'm new to the forum and new to Blackberry as well.

Ive got a 8700g which i need to have because of work and im having a hard time trying to sync the address book with my desktop. The problem is that my carrier account is managed by my office and, as informed by my office administrator, since we do not have a dedicated server with this special software to manage all blackberrys in the office, i am not able to sync my device and, consequently, download any data to it.

I dont know if blackberry operates here in brazil any different than elsewhere and i dont know much of the tech talk.

I've downloaded from BlackBerry's site the desktop manager. Its seems to be working. When i activate it an icon appears on the icon tray and once i click on it, it identifies my device as connected. But i don't know how to manage data into or out of it.

I've also downloaded a software called BlackBerry Addressbook Sync to try to solve the problem, but once I install it, it asks me to download it to my device through the desktop manager which, as i said, i cant make work.

Anyway, all i want is to be able to sync address book between desktop and blackberry. any thoughts?

Have you downloaded the desktop software?

Yes, i have downloaded the Desktop Software. It appears in my icon tray and when i click on it it opens a window which tells me that my device IS connected. However, how do i manage to sync information? Should i do this through the desktop manager or through my Outlook (at home) or Notes (at work)???
