Hi all!!!

I just got my 8820 but I'm having a load of trouble with it. I know I got it sent in from the States, but I don't see how most of my problems are related to that, though I could be wrong.

1) Smart dialing is on, and to change it I'm supposed to go to the "Smart dialing" setting in "Options", but it's not there!!!

2) I set up the wifi from my house and it worked the first night I got it, ever since the error message "Unable to find the requested server" has popped up.

3) In "e-mail setup" the only options that come up are, "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server" or "I want to skip email setup" ....nothing about adding an email account.

Can anyone help me with this PLEASE!!!! I'm going nuts about it!

1. For smart dialing you need to go to the Phone app, then hit menu and select Options.

2. Be sure you are using the wifi browser. Go to Options >Advanced Options >Browser and set the default browser to wifi browser. Or, when you open the browser, hit menu and select Go To. Then before entering your web address hit the menu key and select Change Browser. Change to Wifi Browser then enter your web address.

3. You'll need a blackberry data plan for this feature. Do you have the BB data plan from your provider?

No don't have a data plan, would you believe my service provider doesn't do them?! So I'll have to switch networks, no big deal I guess.

I checked the browser and it's set to the wi-fi browser! Damn it! And it's still coming up with the same error message.

Without sounding like a total moran, where would I find the "phones app"?

1. To find the Phone app, press the green phone button. Then to get to options hit the menu key (to the left of the trackball) and select Options.

2. Also, I've found that clearing the cache sometimes fixes errors like that on the wifi browser. To do this from the browser hit menu and select Options >Cache Operations

Fixed the smart dialing issue! But the cache operations hasn't helped me connect to the wireless, I've tried deleting the saved wi-fi profile and re-entered all the details, but to no avail.

At least I got the dialing sorted! Thanks!
