First of all I would like to say I am new here, so please forgive my noobish lingo .

Okay, so I just purchased a BlackBerry 7250 for Verizon used off eBay a few days ago. I should be receiving it very soon. I understand that for the BlackBerry data plan on Verizon, it is $44.99, correct? Second, will this is be the original BB firmware or the Verizon firmware?

I have a few other questions, but I will ask them later .

Yes you may download third party applications. check the aftermarket software section on this site.

I got my BlackBerry yesterday. I called VZW and got it activated. They told me I had to be on an individual plan for it to be $29.99, I could not be on a Family SharePlan.

Anyway, the BlackBerry is awesome. I am reading up on all of the 3rd party apps. I have installed www.askmenow.com's AskMeNow Software, Google Maps Mobile, and Ramble IM. I have been reading on some of the good software for my BlackBerry, are there any you guys recommend?

Same service but for $15 less per month which you see. I know it may sound too good to be true but that is what it is.

Ive had it for nearly a month now I cant tether and I cant use BES I could before what more do you need.

Are you a BIS user? Since you bought off of ebay, I made that assumption. Other than the tethering, it should be the same.

As per my other post:
"I got it resolved. I called VZW (again!) and finally talked to someone who knew the story. You can use the web and the email and 3rd party apps...but you are charged per megabyte at $1.99 if you are on a Nationwide plan. Was this correct?

no its extra 15.00 a month but on the 29.99 unlimited plan its not available
