Default Email Edit And Forwarding

Please Login to Remove!

Good day.
This will be my first Thead as I have received my Blackberry two days ago.
My question is, how can I edit a received message before I forward her.
When I klick on a new message and choose forwarding than I can only add my new text on top of the original message. The original message is blocked and not editable. How can I change this. I have to forward the messages by using the original text but I have to remove the original sender and some parts of the message.

Thank you for your promt reply.

Brgds,
Chris

Chris-

Try this:

While reading the email, select and copy the portion of the email which you wish to edit. Then compose a new email and paste the text into the new item.

This is a workaround that I have used, but there may be an easier way.

That's the only thing I know to do. Afterward, go the to menu and click on delete original message, or whatever it is, to delete the forwarded message and leave only what you have written or pasted.

Thanks yours.
But I would like to keep the original message but I simply want to edit it before forwarding it on.

Per example if in original message is written "Dear Blackberry Forums" I would like to change it to "Dear Mr..." original sender and all the rest has also to be changed. It has to exist an easier form to change the original wording than copy and past it to a new message.
I previously used a Microsoft based Handheld and you could choose in the setting whether you can edit the original messages when forwarding or if they shall stay blocked.

You can't do what you want, Hotdogxxxx, at least AFAIK. I think the idea is to keep the forwarded email intact. But we've had this debate before, and I remember some arguments that the theory doesn't hold in all instances, but can't remember details.

Well... so it is not possible to forward messages with attachment without the original wording? This is a no go in my business. I can not forward the full message from sender to receiver.

EDIT: OK...I looked at post #5 again. Maybe I see what you want to do. I think your out of luck. If I'm off base here I apologize, but it looks to me a good thing that blackberry does this.

Note what hnsimpson and I wrote..... I believe it's a work around. You can't do what you want in the way you want to do it, but perhaps you can accomplish same thing with cut and paste, then delete the original email. Or will that not work for you either?

i think the problem is because when you forward a message, the blackberry actually only sends the "new content" i believe it picks up the "old" part of the email from the server and pastes this part in the email before forwarding, so when you forward an old email it actually only sends the "new info" and picks up the old info from the server.
Probably to save GPRS traffic / costs

I noted the messages before. I mean I can work with the copy and past thing but it is really time wasting. I can only delete the original message when i push on reply. When I choose forwarding I can not delete the original message.

What happens if the message has an attachment which I would like to send to someone who should not learn who has send the attachment originally. Is it not possible to add only the attachment to a message without using the original wording?

So if I understand it correctly than I have two choices:

1. I copy and past only the message and do not add the attachments.
2. I forward the whole message including attachment with full original senders details.
3. I use a Microsoft soft based handheld...

Ahhhh...my bad. I forgot you can't delete original message when forwarding.

Your attachment question has come up before. I appreciate the issue, but I don't remember a resolution. If you've searched and didn't find solution, I assume no one has posted one.
