Post New User to BB... need major help!

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all...

I just bought a 7100 t - used & unlocked. I have AT&T wireless...
So far I can only use the phone and the basic features... all other stuff is not "usable". On my old phones I was able to access the internet and all with my current plan. I just switched the SIM card.

I just basically need some advice... should I stick with AT&T... I am thinking of going to T-Mobile in Jan. when my plan is set to renew.

I am such a newbie... any advice or tutorials would be a great help. I've looked up on the internet some things... but would still like to "get my hands dirty"

Thanks a bunch!

You will need to have a BlackBerry data plan to access the web and email features.

You will only have limited functionality without a Blackberry Data Plan. If you wish to use it without one you will need to get a hold of Opera Mini as the default BB Browser will not work, You will need to check the APN Settings. You will be able to browse internet, SMS and Phone.

What are the TCP and APN settings? - BlackBerryFAQ

Good Luck!

Ditto the above. You need a blackberry data plan to utilize the native blackberry apps such as browser and email. You can do some things with carrier's data, such as opera mini. See blackberryfaq.com and pay attention particularly to the article on why you need a data plan, or whatever the actual title is. Also search on opera mini, if you go that direction. But my advice is purchase a blackberry data plan.

Also look at the article on buying a used blackberry. Hopefully you are one of the lucky ones; but if not, this article will come in handy when you are troubleshooting.
