Default Another newbie ... with bluetooth problems

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I recently bought my first ever BB 8700, which I use exclusively with a data plan for email (T-mobile). I have been trying to set up my bluetooth connection between my BB and various other machines (my Mac, other smartphones, regular mobile phones, another BB (pearl)).... in all cases, the machines recognize one another, but when I try to exchange files... impossible. On my Mac, for instance, I am told something to the effect that the service is not available (??). Can anyone explain to me if I need to paramater my BB according to a special method, or download specific software etc. to be able to use the bluetooth option. So far, it does not seem to be compatible with anything....

Thanks!!

Default Bluetooth with Pearl: INCOMING file exchange??

Thanks for your post which I only just saw. Sorry for the delay.

A friend of mine recently bought the Pearl. She is able to SEND files via Bluetooth, to other machines (including her Mac and my HTC smartphone), but is unable to recieve anything.

My 8700 model cannot send nor recieve files via bluetooth but I imagine that bb has since updated their software since the Pearl bluetooth file exchange works when outgoing.

Is this "reception-veto" specific to ALL Blackberrys, or do we need to configure the Pearl model so that it can now RECIEVE as well as send?

Thanks,
Koresan
