Unhappy Can't receive email from BES

Please Login to Remove!

background: newby user, 8820, AT&T service to BES, email was working fine
Problem: this morning i stopped receiving email on my BB that was arriving on my corporate account. If I plug into desktop everything shows up. Once unplugged nothing comes in to BB. I can send email from BB no problem.

I've tried powering off and removing battery form BB. No s/w changes were made today that I'm aware of.

Any ideas on troubleshooting?

Welcome to the forums.

Sounds like your BES Admin needs to resend your service books from the BES. Have you talked with the BES Admin about this?

Exclamation Same issue

I have the same problem with BES, and same device 8820. Resending Service book does not solve the problem. Most BES users work just fine since their initial activation.
Have you found the solution to this?

tks

I have found that Desktop Manager can turn off your email forwarding. Plug your blackberry into your computer and open Desktop Manager. Once it is connected and working, double click on email settings. You should have an option in here that says "Redirect incoming messages to the device" if there isn't a check mark on this option then put one on it. You should start receiving your email.

You can also check with your BES admin to see if the email messages are pending on BES. If they are pending then you should work with your BES admin to fix the problem.

I made a similar mistake by connecting my 8820 to the desktop manager while desktop manager was configured to handle redirects. The solution to this is getting your BES admin to re-enable redirection by right clicking on your account and then clicking on "Enable Redirection".

Check with AT&T and make sure you are still on the BES plan for blackberry. Some of the attorney's in my office had some old blackberry BES plans before they merged with Cingular and AT&T automatically decided to help them save money by switching them to a BIS plan instead of leaving them on the BES plan.
