Default Got Mini Opera but lost email, Help?

Please Login to Remove!

I got BB 8800 for my hubby a couple months ago. With my good intention, I suggested him to download mini Opera for the convenient serving the web. However, after downloading the mini Opera, he is no longer getting any email to his BB. He is using BIS. What did go wrong here? Need help. thank you

Welcome to the BBForums!

It is likely one of these things... deleted service book or the such.
My Email Stopped Arriving - BlackBerryFAQ

Serving the web or "surfing" the web? I think I serve it also, too much at times.

Depending on how Opera mini connected to get access to the web, it might have switched data services on the radio to get access. There's nothing wrong with this and it's carrier dependant, but if he leaves Opera running in the background instead of closing it down, it won't close its connection and switch the radio back to full GPRS signal to BIS Data Services to work.

I and my hubby are so new to BB. How do I switch the radio back?

Thank you again.

EXIT OUT OF OPERA WHEN YOU DON'T USE IT. As in close it down, not just escape and leave it running. If you do an ALT+ESC you will see a list of running programs. If you see Opera in there it's still running. Exit out of it. Also, if you do a battery pull, does email connectivity come back up? Look at your signal indicator and see if it changes from GPRS to gprs when you're using Opera. If it does, then the problem is as described by me above. You'll have to exit Opera to get the radio to auto-switch back to full GPRS and bring up the email connectivity. Hope this helps.
