I recently purchased an unlocked blackberry 7290 on ebay. I currently have a T-Mobile faves 5 plan. I realize that this plan won't work with my new blackberry so my question is what kind of plan I would need to purchase. I went to the T-Mobile website and tried to understand what the blackberry plans were all about, but sadly... I still had no idea what they were talking about. Lol. Someone did mention that I would need a Data Plan and a Voice Plan. I would just like someone to maybe recommend a plan that would work well with me. I text a lot and I use my phone quite a bit due to the fact that my boyfriend lives in California and I'm in Indiana. I would also like to be able to surf the web on my phone and connect it to my PC to transfer things back and forth, if possible. Pricing estimates would be appreciated as well. I hope you all understand what I'm trying to say. Lol. All help is greatly apreciated.

Thanks!

I have a family voice plan plus the add on blackberry data plan. The data plan is roughly $20/mo and there is no data limit. This is the BIS service you will see discussed here and at blackberryfaq.com. It does not include SMS and MMS.

That is what I do. I'm not familiar with the other plans but there are members here who are.

Welcome, the phone you purchased may not be a compatible my faves phone. I would get the blackberry add-on data plan for $20 which give you unlimited data and email, a call/rate plan that you feel will be enough minutes and a text messaging plan. The T-mobile plans are all reasonable.

On the faves thing, I can't add and remove numbers on the 8700, of course, but I can do it from T-Mobile website. That seems to be the only difference the phone model makes, unless there is more to it I don't understand.

Plus once you start using all the features on the phone you'll use the extra data plan.

I'm assuming you will you use it for email too
