I got VZ Navigator installed and running today and would love to have some sort of holder in the car to put the screen where I can see it.

Any recommendations?

I went out and got a wife, she holds the phone.

The best part is I no longer have to stop for directions.

Seriously though, I took apart an old cell phone belt clip, and applied some double sided tape, and fastened it to the dashboard adjacent to the stereo head unit. This lets me snap the phone to the dashboard, in view.

ProClip hands down!

I have a ton of winshield time. I do not use the GPS on my BB since my car has one. Pro Clip is without a doubt the best product in this class if you don't want to Jerry rig (not that, that is a bad thing). It pricey probably $40-50. It doesn't move, it doesn't scar your car, it doesn't scar your phone. It just works!

I had the Arkon windshield mount for my Pearl, and it worked great -- it did not move at all.

When I got my 8820, I bought a Brackerton mobile grip-it universal mount from Bestbuy (would fit the 8830 as well). The cradle works great, but I hated how the thing that held it to the windshield vibrated so much that I couldn't really see the maps on the blackberry when I was moving more than 30 mph or on a bumpy road.

The Brackerton cradle had two plastic tabs that held the cradle to the mount, the Arkon only has a single tab -- BUT, the tabs are basically the same. So I shaved the tab off the Brackerton cradle and it works flawlessly with the Arkon mount. Maybe a bit of a kludge, but it holds the device perfectly, and it doesn't move at all.

I swear by these for all of my electronic docking needs.

Just got my 8830 Proclip this week and like the ones for my 7750 and my 7250 and my 7130 (Do you see a pattern here) it fits perfect. All the "Universal" fit brackets are a joke compared to these, they allow access to all side controls and keep your BB in a safe location so it's not flying around while you're driving. If you pair it with a Pro-Fit or Panavise Vehicle Specific Mount (VSM) you will have the best combination.

I use my cars cupholder and it's FREE! lol. If you use VZNavigator, you can hear the voice prompts and don't have to worry about having to look at the device.

I use the Kensington Ipod Car Mount. Works like a charm and its only about $30. Car Mount for iPod® and MP3 Players Solid build, holds it very well, and doesnt interfere with the buttons on the 8820 (not sure about other models).

The proclip is expensive but I can't stress enough of how great of a product it is.

I have a suction cellphone holder that is suctioned to the windshield on the left. I am a BIG freak about things being mounted on my windshield or anywhere in my car that DOESN'T ALWAYS need to be there. The only thing that is permanently there is my radar detector. It retails for $30, but i work at an authorized AT&T retailer so I got it at cost ($6). I like it because it holds it nice and snug and I can remove it or put it up in seconds.

Windshield mount as well. On trips, I have on ocassion used the wife as well.

the proclip web site doesnt seem to be working for me. It wont allow me to choose a device or anything else from the pull downs. bummer

if your using firefox and noscript make sure to allow the page..otherwise iono :P

Get a no name phone or pda holder from Walmart!

I just listen to the VZ Navigator Voice ... She normally does a great job.
