Default quick question.

I recently bought a Blackberry 7290 and as soon as I receive it in the mail I'm going to call T-Mobile and switch my plan to one that is compatible with my phone. I've all ready figured out which plans I'll be switching to, but was a little confused about text messaging. I've heard that the Blackberry has FREE SMS messaging "built in" so I won't need to purchase the text messaging plan for $14.99. Does anyone know if this is true? I would like unlimited text messaging. Would that change everything and make it so I would need to add on the unl. texting plan?

Thanks a bunch.

I don't believe texting is free. There are some plans that include texting. I recommend the BlackBerry Minutes and Mail plan. You get Unlimited Data (which includes browsing and e-mail), along with unlimited texting and 1000 anytime minutes for $60.

Hmmm. That's interesting. I was told that I would need a Data Plan and a Voice Plan, which is understandable. I went to the T-Mobile website and I didn't see the plan you're mentioning. However, I will be calling them this week and will definitely be asking about the plan you're talking about. The plans that I had thought about getting was the Individual Promo Plus Plan which includes the 1500 minutes + unlimited nights/weekends for $49.99/month. And then my Data Plan would be the Blackberry Unlimited Add-On plan for $20/month. And then adding on the Unlimited texting plan for $14.99/month. So, my total would be an estimated $85.00/month.

That seems a little high after what you've mentioned.
