Why does the keyboard light(sprint 8830) stay on while watching movies..such a battery drain.

Also, anyone ever have a keyboard light go/burn out? What is the technology used to illuminate the board anyway?

I think it would be LED lighting. Uses little power and would not burn out in the normal lifetime of a device like this. I agree that you should be able to turn it off.
