Default How to revert back to previous handheld software?

Please Login to Remove!

I purchased a Blackberry 8700g from TMobile the Friday after Thanksgiving. This morning I downloaded the Desktop Manager software to sync the BB with Outlook. I noticed they had a newer version of handheld software (version 4.2) out so I downloaded and installed it. It has made many changes that I do not like, the major one being how the phone is unlocked. I could unlock it by double clicking the mouse wheel before the update, now I have to hit the * key and the call button. The only way I know to fix that is to revert back to the earlier software (version 4.1) but I can't find it for download anywhere.

Does anyone have this version or a link to it? Also, can the unlock method be changed?

I spoke with both TMobile and RIM and neither of them could provide a solution.

Please help!!

Yes, I have an old version OS for the 8700:
--8700E_PBr4.1.0_rel371_PL2.0.0.133_A4.1.0.309_Telst ra.exe
--8700g_4.1.0.346.exe (Tmobile I think?)

Both versions worked well for me, were not buggy.
I could upload one of them an online folder if you want?

That would be awesome if you could post the 8700g_4.1.0.346.exe one.

Am I correct in thinking if I backup my current settings and data I can restore them if that one doesn't work or isn't the one I wanted?

Yes, do a complete Backup from Desktop Manager.

Then to downgrade, follow these instructions:
How do I downgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ

I am about to PM you with details and instructions.
