Default Just got a new BB, bunch of questions...

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all-- this is my first post, and I actually just got a BB 8830 from Verizon after finally leaving T-Mobile and the sidekick 3.

I have a couple questions I'm hoping you guys can answer for me...

1) Is there anyway to turn the phone completely silent--- I.E.-- the number buttons make no noise when you press them when the phone is on silent?

2) Is there a way to make letters not show up uppercase when they start a message?

3) Is there anything to do about the phone's volume, and is there a way to make it ring but not vibrate 2x before it does?

and lastly, and probably most important---

I'm on VZW's unlimited data plan....which i guess if i understand correctly, is actually limited....does this mean I cant download free games on the internet, use IM (or even legally download JiveTalk) without getting kicked off for using too much data??

Thanks so much!!

1. Nope. There's no way to get rid of them.

2. That's a feature of the BB. If you backspace and type it again it will stay in lower case.

3. How do I edit my notification tones (profiles)? - BlackBerryFAQ

4. You'd have to download an awful lot to get kicked off. You can download JiveTalk, use IM,etc.

My Key's don't make noise when I type, the only ones that do are when im typing in a phone # do u wanna silient that as well?

If there is a way to stop the auto capitilization of the 1st letter i haven't found it and i've looked. i've noticed if u double tap the latter and delete the cap the 2nd lower case letter stays lowercased, i did that for my blackberry messenger name.

and you have to goto the sound profile manger under advanced of the profile ur using ex. LOUD, go there and it'll say PHONE edit that and you'll see Vibrate + Tone it'll always vibrate 1st and u can set the # of ringers, 1-3 or just put tone and it'll play the tone u want. but if u have it for both vibe nad tone vibe will always go first.

and your limited to 5gb of data a month on the unlimited plan, which is impossible to use just on the phone alone, if u were to plug it into ur laptop and use the BB as a tethered modem u could get reach that limit, but you have to pay xtra for that option.
