Angry error373 reset, 7100r model

Folks --I have the dreaded error message above and the unit will not initiate - neither will my PC recognize it as a "RIM Device" when I connect it to the computer USB-- it appears the unit software will not initiate -occassionally when the battery is removed and reinstalled the hourglass pops up on the screen but then disappears in favour of the error message - there is even a "catastrophic" message that occasionally comes up

--all I really want to do is backup the unit memory and preserve all my information to install in a new unit-

- does anyone know if somehow the memory chip can be accessed and downloaded ? or any way it can be done ?-none of the information I need is on the sim card- thanks for any input--cheers from Canada (Toronto)-

Welcome to the forums.

Unfortunatly, your data is gone from the device. There is no way to retrieve the info from the device at this point. You may be able to revive the device (not your data) using the methods below:

Then, I suggest begin making frequent backups of your device.
