| | 8707v issues with USB sync to Desktop software

I have a user who is currently experiencing an issuewith his blackberry 8707v. He cannot synchronise his contacts or calendar via USB. I have changed the settings in both the blackberry and the BB Desktop software to ensure that they sync through the USB Cable.
When we click the button to sync, everything goes fine, the spftware read the contacts and calendar and identifies the changes that are to be made. You then click accept and it starts to process these changes.
Then problem starts here. You then get a window that pops up stating "Unable to write or update application data". You click ok and then it goes back to the main windows for the Desktop Manager Software.
I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this issue and if so how this can be resolved?
I have already reinstalled the software, but this has not helped resolve the issue.
