It changes the color of the trackball for the Pearl only.

* Select a color of your choice and press the trackball. Color changed! (* For Curve, BlackBerry 8800 series devices, only LED status light color will be changed.)

88xx do not have color leds. so you cant change to other colors, sorry

edit: damn, aim to slow. hehe

the 8100 has 4 color leds. red, blue, green(rgb) and white. 88xx and 83xx only have white. so no.

Pimp my Pearl will change the LED (not the trackball) on the 8830. I found it more annoying than cool, so I quickly removed it after seeing what it did.

Agreed, a friend of mine had it on his pearl, and my first thought was that it would change my ball too. Nope, I like my 8830 just the way it is.
