I purchased a Blackberry 7290 from an ebay store which I've pasted the link below. Not a stollen phone and the seller has good credentials. I'm sure I will have no problem getting support for the device because he's a certified seller. However, I don't really want to wait all this time to get the unlock code for this thing. Anyone know a solution for this delema other than going back to the seller, who will in turn, have to go back to the original purchaser? Just an attempt to play with my new toy.

Welcome to the forums.

You need to put in the password wrong 10 times in a row. The device will then wipe itself of all data (not applications, just data) and then you can set a new password.

Or you could contact the (previous) owner and ask them for the password. I'm sure they would be happy to help.
