Smile from i880 to 7100i

i have a nextel i880 but im thinking of switching to the blackberry 7100i (well ill have it on christmas as a present) now can i use my i880 sim card in it? i have a data plan and have used yahoo im on it, if i remove my apps from the phone to the card ,put the card in the bb will i be abe to use those apps like i did in the i880. thanks in advance

yes and no.

The data plan that you have now is not the same as a BB dtata plan. Also if nextel discovers you have your sim in the 7100i they may add a plan to your account with out ttelling you.

With your current data plan you could load up opera and use it but that the extent.

can i use yahoo instant messenger or do i need the bb data plan for that too?

ok so if i get the unlimited bb data plan will i have to pay extra for yahoo instant messenger or is that included in the plan just wondering because i use it alot to get in touch with the wife and kids

The unlimited is all inclusive youll be happy with everything but the outdated BB

Could he still get unlimited data free by making it a boost-berry? Or have they cracked down on that? I remember people used to do that with the old 7520.

I wasnt trying to be negative, sorry you took it that way. Wasnt a personal opinion its a fact they arent producing software for it anymore. I used the same one up till January of this year its a stable device just outdated by time not service.

no problem dude i got it as a gift im just trying to figure out what i can and cant do with it is where any where i can get software for it for now until i upgrade? and is so where and what software program? im new to to the bb thing so please bear with me

ok one more question ... i guess what im trying to ask is ..if i have the BB data plan then download yahoo im will i be charged for each messege (i thinks its like 15 cents or something ) or is that apart of the data plan i did a search and realy didnt find the answer i needed - thanks again for your help
