Default Slow email on Sprint 8830

Please Login to Remove!

I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my phone, email, or Sprint service. My push email on my BlackBerry was super fast when I first activated it on my 8830 (I previously had a 7100i that was also very fast with my email), however, I now receive some messages 10~15 minutes after I receive them in my inbox, and even sometimes several hours later. When I first activated it, I would often see the messages on my BlackBerry before my computer.

I use my Verizon Yahoo! email address primarily, but it also does it on my other work related email addresses. I have noticed that if I open the message on my computer in my inbox it will come through right away on my BlackBerry.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for your help,

-Charlie

Depending on if your emails are being forwarded to your device address, BIS can and does take as long as 15 minutes to be pushed to your device.

Syncmaster,

I too am on Sprint with the 8830 and are experiencing s l o w email deliveries from my personal email. Now my [email address] if something is sent there it is instant. However, there is no way that I have found to sync email sent to that address........But I am still looking.

I have my aol pushed to my phone and can take anywhere from 5 minutes to an average 15/20 minutes, sometimes longer. IMO it might have to do with reception or at least it is the case for myself.

Default Only works for some of my emails

gmail will send instantly to my 8830
Hotmail takes 15/20min to my 8830
My personal domain mail gets instantly on my 8830
[email address]kberry gets it instantly as well

So, hotmail is the only issue for me so far with slowness.

My solution is to use a 3rd party mail forwarding service on my Blackberry called Versa Forward VersaForward Email Forwarding Service - AOL, Hotmail, MSN, Yahoo to your Cell Phone, Blackberry, or Email

It is not free but they forward my IMAP AOL mail every single minute! Have been using them for a few years now and never seen them fail!

Several different price plan to look at

WOW!!! 35 bucks a month. I can't swing that. But out of curiosity, do you receive your email as a "Forwarded" email? Or do they show that they are from the original sender? I can't handle that price, but in the same breath this "polling" every 15 minutes bits. VersaMail on my Treo would do that, I wanted instant email from my Blackberry that is one reason I switch from Palm. Ok enough with the crying I do love the stability. No resets every other day
