First off all, please clean up the language (i.e, go back and edit it).

If you or your friend don't know the password, you're pretty much out of luck.

Do you have a backup? After the wrong password is entered 10 times, it will wipe the data from the device and you can restore from backup.

If no backup....no friend.

you wont like it. put in the wrong code 10 times and get a clean fresh wiped BB.

also you may wish to expunge yourself of idiot so called friends who mess with things they should leave alone. or put a stake thru his heart which sounds like lots more fun.

hopsfully you have a recent backup?

O man.. i dont any backups.. Is there a way to back it up when its locked?? and if i get it wrong ten times does it automatically open up on the 11th?
If i called T-mobile or RIM customer care is there a way for them to get by this without deleting all my info??

Blackberrys are designed with security in mind. That's why there is no cracking a password-protected device. Bad news.

BB owners should be warned ahead of time to kill all their idiot friends. Or put your own security code in so they are locked out. You ARE going to burn down his motorcyle for this aren't you?

T-Mo or RIM cannot do anything about the password. Yes, the device will 'open up' after the 10th try (after wiping the data) and you'll have to set a new password. Then you can disable it.

And beat your friend.

Don't tell my kids that. They think I'm evil.

I feel like I am taking over the thread but it is dead anyway! (sorry guy!)

You are too young to have kids.

We are ALL too young to have kids!! (and I'm 52 with 2 grown kids)

This is a good lesson for all BB users: set a password, even if you don't use it. Just set it so some idiot can't.
